Thanks for the tutorial. I have 2 canon 30 Ds. I do wedding photography on the side and use one for backup. But I'm thinking about putting wedding photography on the back burner and use my 2nd camera to experiment with infrared. I know paying someone to do this can cost about $250 - $400. So this tutorial really helps me out. I will let you know if I go through with it.

Hi thanks for this demo. I'm actually having to replace my broke shutter on my 30D...so I'm at the part where it looks like I have to remove the right MB and then the large steel plate to access the shutter assymbly. Also, I found my 30D with a loose and one screw missing on the tripod mount (yes I figure there's a loose screw from the tripod mount somewhere inside or it was never installed with two screws. Also, the right MB top right screw is missing...hummm. I also noticed a lot of finger prints inside which seems odd. My unit was bought new from Dell about 3 years ago.

Hi...
Thank you for your detailed Report about disassembling the 30D. Instead of sending it to Canon I could repair the PC-sync-socket by myself ;).

The long screw fixing the mainboard is in the lower left corner ;).

Hint: You don't need to unscrew the diopter screw. ;).

Kind regards
CSe
